About the Doctor

Dr. Gene King received his B.S. degree at Millikin University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Illinois dental school. Dr. King enjoys keeping up with current trends and technology in orthodontics and routinely earns more than 30 credit hours of continuing education a year. He has taken three mini-residency courses from the Dawson Institute in Tampa, Florida, on the treatment of TMJ. He also went through courses with GAC for temporary anchorage devices. Dr. King has lectured in Chicago and New Orleans for Unitek Corporation on the transcend bracket. He met with their research and development department on the design of this bracket.

Dr. King is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Seattle Study Club and the Illini District Dental Society.

Dr. King and Fran enjoy traveling, watching Illini sports and playing golf. He has two children that are successful in their professional lives. In addition, Dr. King is a private pilot with over 2,000 hours of flying time and is instrument rated.
